When selling your home, be flexible – and ready to show!

Having a house ready for sale can be a tiring process. However, being ready to show your home at any time is very important.  The real estate market is constantly moving and evolving, so it’s vital to accommodate buyers’ schedules to sell your house quickly and for the best price.

It’s important to understand that one thing buyers don’t want to see is you.  Having the seller present at a home showing leads to unease among potential buyers, since they don’t feel free to look around.  When you’re there, they feel like a guest – you want them to feel at home.  Here are some quick tips to make the process easier.

Quick Tips

  • Spend a few extra minutes each morning tidying up the house.  Make beds, quick vacuum, clear kitchen and bathroom counters & sinks.  That way, you can be ready for any last-minute showings.
  • Keep a bag with a book, phone charger ready – maybe a few toys for the kids, if applicable –  to grab on your way out.  You’ll be ready to show at a moment’s notice.
  • Think about some errands that you’ve been putting off (returns, shopping at an out-of-the way store).  Have whatever you’ll need ready to grab ( lists, receipts, measurements, information).  That way, you won’t have “wasted the time.”
